New car sales grow across state, nation: Are we better off?

Using new vehicle registrations and other relative data as a measuring stick, the economy appears to be on the mend in Pennsylvania and nationally. There were 682,697 new vehicle registrations in Pennsylvania in 2007, just as the Great Recession started to take shape, according to data PennLive obtained from the Pennsylvania Automotive Association.
