Nike names Apple CEO to board as Knight retires

Sporting goods giant Nike has named Apple CEO Tim Cook lead independent director of its board, while simultaneously announcing the company's co-founder, Phil Knight, has retired from his post as chairman under a planned transition that was initiated a year ago.
