Nvidia introduces Shield games and entertainment console

(Telecompaper) Nvidia introduced at the Game Developer Conference in San Francisco its own gaming and entertainment console, based on the Android OS. The Shield device runs Nvidia's Tegra X1 processor and can support streaming video up to 4K resolution. The Shield will launch with over 50 Android games as well as access to Nvidia's online gaming service Grid and other services such as TransGaming. Users will be able to download a range of Android apps for access to additional entertainment services. The Shield is expected to launch in May at recommended price of USD 199.
