Oil prices plunge, signaling drilling slowdown

U.S. benchmark oil dropped $2.14 Friday, or 3.6 percent, to $57.81 a barrel. Brent, the international benchmark, lost $1.83, or 2.9 percent, to $61.85 a barrel.
