OpenTV, Nagravision sue Apple in Germany

2014-05-13 08:55:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) The Kudelski Group announced that its OpenTV and Nagravision subsidiaries have filed new patent infringement suits against Apple in Duesseldorf District Court. The suits allege that Apple infringes three patents owned by OpenTV and Nagravision and seek, among other relief, to enjoin Apple from further infringement. The infringing products include iOS mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod), Apple TV, App Store and OS X-based personal computers. This is the second suit in a month by the company against Apple, after a similar case alleging infringement of five patents was filed in the US in April. Kudelski has also strengthened its intellectual property team with the appointment of David Fligor and Clay Gaetje as Vice Presidents of Licensing. They report to Joe Chernesky, Senior VP for Intellectual Property & Innovation. Fligor was most recently VP Corporate Development & Strategy at TiVo and Gaetje served as VP Licensing at Rovi.
