Orange in talks to sell Dailymotion stake to Yahoo! - report

(Telecompaper) Yahoo! and France Telecom-Orange have entered talks about the possible sale of a controlling stake in France Telecom's video website Dailymotion, people familiar with the talks told the Wall Street Journal. Yahoo! could acquire up to 75 percent of Dailymotion, the people said. One person added that Dailymotion could be valued at about USD 300 million, but that the deal was not imminent. The move would help Yahoo! increase its online video presence in Europe and Asia. France Telecom was previously reported to be seeking a US partner for Dailymotion to increase the platform's presence in the US. Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer has said that investment in overseas markets would be key to the company's growth. Neither company would comment on the matter.
