Panasonic exits semiconductor sector

(Telecompaper) Panasonic has sold its semiconductor business to Nuvoton Technology, with Digitimes putting the price at USD 250 million. The operations come under the Panasonic Semiconductor Solutions (PSCS) and include image sensors, laser diodes, MOSFETs, motor driver ICs, power devices, radio-frequency devices, and audio and visual systems. The transaction is expected to complete in June.
