The Astrophysics Group of SRON, Utrecht, has vacancy for a PhD student fm Vacancynumber 1252 SRON invites applications for a 4years position fully funded by the NWOVidi fellowship titled Interstellar dust chemistry revealed through Xray highresolution spectroscopy. The PhD student will work in the group of Dr. E. Costantini. Project outline The goal of this project is to investigate the average chemical properties of the interstellar medium. The student will mainly deal with both astronomical data, observed in the Xray band by the highenergy resolution gratings of Chandra and XMMNewton, and laboratory data of interstellar dust. Employment conditions Employment of this fulltime position is by NWO The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research and will be for a period of up to 4 years. The salary will be in accordance with the salary scales of NWO, starting at 2.211, in the first year and growing to 2.834, in the fourth year of employment.
