Proposed AM Standard to offer mechanical testing guidelines.

ASTM International Committee F42 on Additive Manufacturing Technologies is working on a standard that will be used to evaluate mechanical properties for additively manufactured materials. WK49229, Guide for Anisotropy Effects in Mechanical Properties of AM Parts, will serve as a guideline for using currently available standards for measuring mechanical properties, such as fracture toughness and fatigue crack growth, specifically within realm of additive manufacturing.
