A competitor based down Interstate 40 from Laboratory Corp. of America is looking at the Burlington company's planned purchase of Covance as an opportunity to gain market share in the area of clinical trial research. Quintiles -looks-to-take-advantage-of-Covance-LabCorp-deal">According to Outsourcing-Pharma.com , Durham-based Quintiles CEO Tom Pike said Wednesday "there's an opportunity with Covance being acquired," with uncertainty about what the acquisition will mean for customers who turn to the New Jersey-based Covance for central lab services.
