EPA announced settlement with 4 Texas-based recreational vehicle importers and affiliated Chinese vehicle manufacturer, for illegal import and sale of more than 4,000 uncertified off-road recreational vehicles sold under brand name Hammerhead from 2007–2011. Settlement alleges that companies violated numerous Clean Air Act provisions governing how vehicles must be manufactured, tested, and certified before they can be sold in U.S. Companies will pay total of $560,000 in civil penalties.
