Retailer boards short of hands-on retail experience

Christine Cross, a former Tesco executive, is one of two non-executive directors on the Woolworths board with a retail or consumer products background. Woolworths' fall from grace, and ongoing struggles at Myer and Metcash, have exposed a lack of retail experience on the boards of Australia's largest retailers.
