(Telecompaper) Russian national operator Rostelecom annoucned that it has launched its LTE network in Sochi. Some 40 LTE base stations have been deployed in mountainous and coastal areas of the city, in locations where the Winter Olympics take place. Up to 60 Mbps download and up to 20 Mbps upload is accessible using the network. The network will cover 90 square kilometres in the city. Sims from the operator are already available for sale in commercial centres and Rostelecom retail outlets in the city.
