(Telecompaper) South Korean operator SK Telecom, in partnership with Nokia, will develop a mobile network for disaster response, Nikkei reports, citing an SK statement. SK Telecom and Nokia plan to develop software for network base stations within the year. SK and Nokia plan to tweak bandwidth use to minimize the load on network infrastructure and disseminate data to many handsets. The two partners also intend to subsequently expand the technology to other markets worldwide.
