Senior Specialist, Government Proposals Reston, Virginia YOUR ROLE The Senior Specialist, Government Proposals will lead and manage efforts for satellite communications SATCOM and endtoend telecommunication proposal solutions for government organizations. You will manage all daytoday aspects of individual proposals, working closely with the virtual bid teams while bringing in subject matter experts when required. In close collaboration with the Regional Sales Directors and proposal team key stakeholders, you will be responsible for creating and delivering comprehensive proposal answer to existing or prospective clients, on time and within budget. You make sure that the clients expectations and requirements have been addressed as fully as possible by the organization to provide the best possible chance of success. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Manage customer Request for Proposals RFPs, bids, quotations, or other documents describing SES productsservices in response to requests from prospective government customers Collaborate with Global Government Sales and Global Institutions Project Sales, business development, engineering, marketing, finance, and legal teams to ensure proposal content is complete, accurate, and timely Manage responses to large procurements for endtoend satellite or communication solutions, managed services, complex solutions involving internal and external stakeholders, as well as task order proposals Schedule and conduct plantowrite sessions, compliance, color team reviews, and lessons learned Provide guidance for both capture and proposal efforts to Sales Directors and capture team members, advise them on effective pursuit and messaging strategies, encourage them to consider all aspects of the clients position and draw out essential discussion and define strategic win themes Establishe priorities and target dates to ensure proposal deadlines are met Evaluate and interpret the most effective means of presenting SESs customer response Serve as a focal point for collecting all proposal information Write, edit and incorporate Marketingprovided graphics to create compelling customer bids Maintain master versions of proposals, including comments and revisions from multiple Subject Matter Experts SMEs Oversee operational activities including developing leading pursuit practices, content for proposal databases, internalexternal marketing brochures and guidancepresentations for meetings Interface closely with proposal center and sales personnel in both the Global Governments Sales and the Global Institutions Project Sales organizations Prepare and deliver training on advanced capture and proposal management techniques to SES staff Take ownership of the proposals components and quality by managing and developing content for proposal documents, maintaining version control and accuracy including executive summary, visuals, biographies and qualifications, applying brand and legal compliance standards to proposalspresentations Translating complex problems and issues into clear and compelling messages, editing highly technical content and adding clarity and professional polish to proposals. YOUR PROFILE Bachelors or Masters degree in related field or 3 to 5 years experience managing and writing Government proposals Minimum of 5 years professional experience in a proposal and technical writing environment Knowledge of Commercial Satellite Communications a significant plus Knowledge of various types of solicitations, government framework contracts, schedules and governmental procurement processes from different countries Strong background in bidprocurement management and established high quality network in sector like United Nations organization, Military and Defense sectors, Government civil areas Product management experience a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and good presentation skills Exceptional critical thinking, analytical and problemsolving Exceptional project skills with ability to coordinate virtual teams, strong time management, ability to report key performance indicators to track all aspects of proposalrelated activity Ability to prioritize and multitask within a fastpaced environment to meet the given deadlines Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, capacity to adapt leadership style to achieve results, ability to close deals at Senior Management level Superior use of MS Office Suite Skills, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, Project, Adobe Acrobat and proposal writing software to produce professional bids Shipley andor APMP certifications Fluency in English, additionally French andor Spanish are considered an asset Readiness to travel.
