Relocation assistance provided if applicable. Main responsibilities For our activities at ESOC we are looking for a Senior Unix Administrator with a good work ethic and strong Linux skills. The role will be offered as fixedterm contract until June 2018 with possibility of extension. The role is related to the maintenance and operation of an operational computer infrastructure involving a network of 1,200 servers and clients mostly SLES and Solaris based with a small percentage of Windows based serversclients. Tasks Responsibilities Operating system installation and configuration Diagnosis, reporting and correction of system software faultsuser problems Planning, preparation, testing and implementation maintenance activities such as patches and software upgrades Interfacing with 1st and 3rd line support, and other internal 2nd line support teams Installation, testing and inventory of new software packages and releases Auditing and accounting Maintenance of inhouse softwaredocumentation Performing extra support activities as requested, including working outside the normal working hours Implementation, maintenance and operation of automatic software updates and OS installation. Ideal candidate The candidate should have a relevant educational background and experience along with the following Skills Knowledge of networking concepts and experience in network problem solving Strong interpersonal skills, selfmotivation and the ability to work in a team are very important. Experience Suse Linux SLES 9 to SLES 12, including Autoyast, Zypper, LVM, Multipathing, MD Networks and protocols such as Ethernet, TCPIP, DNS, SSH, NTP, DHCP, FTP Scripting in Bash and Python, SQL HP hardware, including storage arrays VMware ESX Server and vCenter Oracle Solaris 8 and 10 Oracle SPARC hardware and disk arrays NetApp MariaDB, MySQL and Oracle databases Hadoop HP or Brocade Fibre SANs Use of Microsoft Office products and Lotus Notes ITIL. Education Personal Very good command of English Knowledge of German is an advantage ITIL qualifications an advantage.
