About the role RAL Space has opportunities for Product Assurance Specialists to join us at two levels, as a Specialist and as a Senior Specialist. RAL Space is involved in all aspects of the design, manufacture, assembly and test of hardware and software for spacebased and groundbased scientific instruments, and the work of our Product Assurance Group is vital to the success of these projects. As a SeniorProduct Assurance Specialist you have responsibility for writing the Product Assurance Plan then ensuring that the activities it prescribes are followed to provide appropriate control and records of materials and processes, dependability, safety, EEE components, and for quality assurance measures including supporting and auditing suppliers. You are the formal point of contact with the customers and suppliers on all Product Assurance matters providing plenty of opportunity for contact and interaction throughout the project. About You We are looking for individuals with previous Product Assurance experience who are educated to degree level or equivalent in a STEM subject. Whilst experience in the space industry would be ideal, it is not essential, so we are really interested to hear from PA specialists from any scientific, technical or engineering background who are interested in the exciting work we do. Its really important that you have a thorough approach and are able to work to tight deadlines across multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities as the need arises. In managing product assurance issues there is frequently the need to negotiate the best course of action, so effective oral and written communication skills are essential when dealing with Managers, Engineers and Scientists both within RAL Space and with representatives of space agencies, customers and suppliers.
