Some 65% of Britons unhappy with broadband provider - survey

2014-12-29 14:41:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Some 65 percent of UK consumers are unhappy with their current broadband provider, according to an online survey of 1,363 readers of ISPreview in November and December. The survey found that 56 percent felt the quality of their service had worsened over the past year. Asked which aspect of their ISP made them least happy, 28.3 percent said "reliability", 24.9 percent said "speed", 17.7 percent "customer support" and 14 percent "price". The satisfaction level with speed has risen compared to a similar survey in 2012, when 40 percent said speed was their biggest complaint. Issues with reliability worsened from 17 percent two years earlier, and customer support from 7 percent. ISPreview's latest survey found that 46 percent of respondents said they planned to switch ISP in 2015 and 32 percent answered "maybe". Actual switching tends to be lower than expressions of intent to switch.
