(Telecompaper) Sprint officials are coming together to discuss whether the potential acquisition of smaller rival T-Mobile US is still a good idea following antitrust officials' expressed strong sentiments against a deal, people familiar with the matter said, reported The Wall Street Journal. Sprint Chairman Masayoshi Son and Chief Executive Dan Hesse, who met with officials at the Justice Department and the Federal Communications Commission in Washington in recent weeks, were aware that it would be tough to gain approval for the deal, the people said. However, the men were surprised at the level of pushback the deal received and its public nature, one of the people said.
