Despite continuing to lose customers to natural gas conversions, the Stamford-based owner of Petro home heating oil service added 380 employees in the past year, a 15 percent increase that was partly the result of an acquisition. From its new headquarters in Stamford, Star Gas Partners runs Petro with a fleet of some 2,350 oil delivery trucks and service vans covering 15 Eastern states from Maine to South Carolina.
