Bloomberg: The U.S. Energy Department said it will create a new reserve to stockpile 1 million barrels of gasoline at two Northeast U.S. locations to prevent the type of shortages that occurred after Superstorm Sandy in 2012. The refined petroleum product reserve will provide gasoline within 24 hours of extreme weather events such as hurricanes, tidal surges and snow and icing conditions, Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz said today on a conference call with reporters.
