(Telecompaper) T-Mobile Netherlands plans to start providing VoLTE in mid-2016. Speaking at a press event in Zeeland, Richard Marijs, the company's network and spectrum specialist, said the operator is not in a hurry to introduce VoLTE and noted that the number of LTE-enabled handsets is still limited. Marijs also said that one of the greatest advantage of VoLTE, a better call quality, is already available with the operator's 3G network. T-Mobile NL is putting all of its attention for the moment on the roll-out of its 4G network. The operator expects to reach nationwide coverage with a combination of LTE-1800 and LTE-900. When the milestone gets reached, 95 percent of all T-Mobile NL customers in the operator's catchment area will have 4G coverage.
