Target taps Nordstrom executive as merchandising chief

US retailer Target Corp has ended a year-long search by appointing Nordstrom executive Mark Tritton as its new chief merchandising officer, in a role that oversees buying, product design and development, sourcing, visual merchandising strategy, and merchandising operations.
