(Telecompaper) Telefonica has increased the global revenues arising from its cybersecurity business to EUR 400 million a year, including EUR 100 million in the Spanish corporate sector alone, reports Cinco Dias. Speaking at Telefonica's Security Innovation Day in Madrid, head of cybersecurity Chema Alonso said the company is targeting a 30 percent growth in the segment next year. "We want to be a player in security technologies, which is why we have opted for the development of our own solutions to expand our portfolio of services," said former celebrity hacker Alonso, who now heads Telefonica's digital security subsidiary Eleven Paths. The company took advantage of the event to announce strategic alliances with key players in the security sector including Alien Vault, BlueCoat, Intel Security, Palo Alto Networks, RSA and Vaultive.
