Telefonica launches 'Screen Fusion' connected TV set

2015-12-03 15:13:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Telefonica has announced the launch of an exclusive smart TV called 'Screen Fusion' in a bid to persuade customers to sign up to the Movistar+ pay-TV offer. The company's plans to give away TVs with access to Movistar+ were first revealed by Telefonica Spain CEO Luis Gilperez Miguel in September. At the time Gilperez said the TV would be free as long as customers continued subscribing to a Movistar+ contract. However, Telefonica has now announced that only new subscribers to the Movistar Fusion+ 300Mbps fibre service will be given a free 32-inch connected TV set, with a 40-inch set also available for EUR 120. Existing Fusion+ 300Mbps fibre subscribers will have to pay EUR 50 for the 32-inch set or EUR 170 for the 40-inch version.
