(Telecompaper) India's Tata group and Telenor are close to reaching a deal to merge their mobile telephony operations in India. Final details related to the transaction are being discussed by Telenor and Tata senior officials in London this week, Business Standard reports, citing an unnamed person with knowledge of the matter. Once the two parties reach a final deal, Telenor would run the day-to-day business of the merged entity. Considering the valuations of both companies, Tata group is expected to hold a minority stake in the merged entity.
