Top gear: electric and hybrid car sales up 139% in 2015

There has been a huge rise in the number of motorists buying electric and hybrid cars in 2015, new figures show. Some 20,992 motorists bought a so-called "plug-in" vehicle between January and September, up 139% on the same period last year.
