DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kiko was located near latitude 14.0 North, longitude 126.3 West. Kiko is moving toward the west near 8 mph (13 km/h), and this general motion is expected during the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Rapid strengthening is forecast over the next 24 hours, and Kiko is forecast to become a hurricane by Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center.
