US Q3 in brief: Wal-Mart, Dick's Sporting Goods, TJX Companies

In the most recent third-quarter filings from US apparel brands and retailers, Kate Spade & Co returned to profit, while Columbia Sportswear Co, Sequential Brands and Under Armour lifted their full-year guidance. TJX Companies booked earnings and sales growth, but Nordstrom, Dick's Sporting Goods and Wal-Mart lowered their full-year outlook. JC Penney narrowed its loss, while Dillard's, Macy's and Urban Outfitters all posted double-digit earnings declines.
