VESA finalizes DisplayPort 1.4, adds 8K support, data compression, and USB-C

VESA announced today that the DisplayPort 1.4 specification has been finished. The new standard allows for up to 8K video, implements new color capabilities, and adds a visually lossless compression method to ensure the standard will meet the needs of 5K or even 8K displays.
