Verizon names J. Crew executive to new role of marketing chief

Verizon Communications Inc. is turning to apparel chain J. Crew Group Inc. for marketing inspiration as the largest U.S. wireless carrier confronts an escalating price battle. Diego Scotti, the head of marketing at J. Crew, will take over the new role of chief marketing officer at Verizon starting next week, the company said today in a statement.
