Vice President, Satellite Project Oversight, SES SL IOM Ref SES0419 Region Europe Location Isle of Man Douglas Company SES Category Other Engineering Technical Position Management Context The VP Satellite Project Oversight Manager will be responsible for the management of the companys contracts both with our satellite manufacturers, and internally within the SES group. Working with the SES groups Spacecraft Program Offices, the position involves overseeing multiple satellite programmes, ensuring SES SLs best interests are protected, reviewing and approving as appropriate milestone timelines to ensure that contractual and programmatic targets are met, and that required licences and insurances are maintained. The role will involve development of operational analyses to support the satellite procurement and investment process. Attendance at key spacecraft manufacturing program and launch vehicle provider meetings will be required design reviews, management meetings etc. The role will require a high level of interface with other SES group departments who support these various activities. Responsibilities Take a lead role on behalf of SES Satellite Leasing in interfacing with SES group internal teams, the satellite manufacturers and launch vehicle providers as appropriate, in the management of SES SL procurement activities Will act as SES SLs programmatic interface for the manufacturers and the SES Engineering satellite procurement teams Will play a significant role in all aspects of satellite procurement from RFP, assignment through program, contractual, technical, mission, quality and interface reviews As appropriate, attend relevant procurement activity meetings with both SESinternal and external spacecraft manufacturers, launch vehicle providers safeguarding SES SL interests in the case of schedule or programmatic issues arising Will be the leading interface with the Space engineering and planning department on behalf of SES Satellite Leasing Support and advise on all SES SL investment decisions related to Space The candidate will be expected to maintain a wide satellite industry review and to be proactive in keeping SES informed of market developments, competitive ventures and opportunities The candidate should have a broad systems view of the satellite and mission fields. Experience Qualifications Degree in a technical, project management or related field is required with a Masters degree in Economics, Mathematics or Physics Minimum of 10 years experience in the satellite aerospace andor telecom industry field Must have good interpersonal, verbal, written and presentational skills Must have the ability to interface effectively at various levels of the SES and contractor organisations An engineering or project management background, ideally having previously worked in the commercial space industry Available to travel up to 50 of the time.
