Vivus: Is Icahn The Last Hope?

Activist investor Carl Icahn earlier this month offered to acquire all of the outstanding 4.50% Convertible Senior Notes due 2020 of Vivus , the struggling biotechnology company. Icahn's unsolicited offer, although for convertible notes, sparked a rally in VVUS's shares.
