(Telecompaper) Vodafone UK will switch on 4G in Liverpool on 17 October, in Glasgow on 24 October and in Manchester shortly afterwards. This follows the launch of 4G services initially in London, and then in Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield in September. Vodafone aims to cover 97 percent of the UK population with its 4G network by 2015. The company also confirmed that more than 100,000 customers have signed up for Red 4G-ready plans. Since launching 4G services in London, Vodafone has been expanding coverage across the city - with more than 80 towns and districts in the London area now connected to Vodafone 4G.
