(Telecompaper) Vodafone announced that it has started trialling vehicle-to-vehicle communications using the 4G extension LTE-V2X in the UK and is planning further trials in Germany. LTE-V2X enables cars to chat with each other to improve road safety and efficiency. LTE-V2X means connecting vehicles (V) to everything (X). Vodafone is working with industry partners to develop LTE-V2X through the standards organisation 3GPP. Vodafone and Huawei will be discussing the plans at the Paris Motor Show.
