After weeks of being plugged into the Volkswagen emissions scandal, more than half of UK motorists say they plan to be driving an electric or hybrid car next. Some 53 per cent of drivers surveyed by the Institute of the Motor Industry who plan to buy or lease a car in the next two years said they are considering getting behind the wheel of an electric or hybrid vehicle.
