One of our clients based in Germany is looking for a Web Content Developer. The Consultant shall support provision of webbased user information and services, managed in the User Support and Climate Services USC Division. He will be primarily responsible for the preparation of web content relating to product catalogue information and technical documentation and for enhancing the layout and structure of content on web pages. Closing date 10th April 2016 Tasks The main tasks of the consultant are Produce and maintain Web based content both textual and graphical relevant to the current and future data, products and services of EUMETSAT, in particular to Maintain the product description based on ISO metadata standards within the Product Navigator. Support the preparation of the Image Library section of the website with the provision of new examples of satellite imagery. Create news items in a timely fashion. Enhance and maintain Web page content describing EUMETSATs satellites, data and imagery with the aim of Introducing new graphical elements. Reorganising content layout to improve readabilityusability. Supporting the development team in the enhancement of web applications like EUMETView, the Product Navigator and the Earth Observation registration portal Support the preparation of user requirements. Participation in the verification and validation activities as a user representative user tests definition, user tests execution. Generate and analyse web statistics Prepare reports on web usage. Identify usage trends across specific areas of the web site. Work with various website and web application developers to enhance web services Support the preparation of user requirements for web services Web site redesign. Web application enhancement e.g. Product Navigator, Earth Observation Portal Provide version release support through validation reviews. Maintain test plans and prepare test reports. Conduct maintaineroperator testing. Participate in crossorganisational meetings, e.g. Web Service Team meetings. Qualifications A University degree in a relevant discipline. Experience Several years of experience in Web content provision. Experience in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript writing and editing skills. Experience in working with imagebasedmovie web content, using formats such as JPEG, PNG and MP4. Familiarity with graphics design packages, e.g. Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop. Familiarity with web mockup tools, e.g balsamiq. Familiarity with Web usability best practices. Good quality written English. Knowledge of MS Office. Highlevel of autonomy in working arrangements and the ability to apply initiative and creativity in the execution of tasks. Knowledge Skills Experience of using, XML,XSD, and XSLT. Experience in programming languages like Python, Ruby, Perl for small task automation. Experience with ISO 19115 metadata editing. Experience in generating content for Web sites using a Content Management System. Experience of Search Engine Optimisation. Experience of providing web content for an international audience.
