For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a Web and Multimedia Developer. Tasks and Responsibilities The following tasks will be undertaken Web Activities Coordinate the CIS contribution to the internal crossorganisational Web Services Team WSTSteering Committee for Information Management SCIM activities Represent CIS at WST meetings, including acting as Chairperson according to rota Participate in any necessary SCIM meetings Provide designlevel documentation to support the design and development of EUMETSAT web services e.g. site maps, wireframes, prototypes Support and coordinate special initiatives e.g. in the context of launches through the development of microsites, ad banners, web streaming, interactive content, etc. Develop new layouts, functionality and interactive content, in accordance with relevant internal processes Change Request Process, Content Development Guidelines, Multimedia Guidelines, etc. Coordinate and support webspecific tasks during key EUMETSAT activities launches, anniversary, etc. Compose, edit and deliver video material for publication over the web Maintain key web service documentation Change Request Log, Web Service Roadmap, Skills Matrix, etc. Gather and report web sitesocial media usageimpact to the Management Board Regular reporting on the progress of web site projects Analyse and communicate CISspecific IT needs Provide web UX and UI expertise to the organisation as a whole Maintain documentation for all developments functionality, interactive content projects in conformance with ISO requirements. Social Media Produce monthly European weather movies for YouTube Develop regular weather and climate visualisations for EUMETSAT outreach channels YouTube, Flickr using Earth observation data Develop interactive learning applications for EUMETSATs Learning Zone educational site Support the continued development of the Learning Zone and Climate Blog sites. Intranet Maintain existing interactive content online forms, home page features, etc. Act as backup for intranet content publishers within CIS Act as point of contact for intranet feedback and suggestions Maintain key intranet documentation site map, author list, access group list, etc. Gather and report intranet usage to the Web Management Team. In the performance of these tasks, the Key Person shall apply the relevant EUMETSAT organisational and programmatic quality management procedures, including the relevant working practices and procedures with special focus on the corporate branding guidelines. Requirements The key person will need to demonstrate a minimum of twelve years working experience in web development and publishing on large corporate websites and a minimum of seven years experience of computer graphic CG animation, modelling and simulation. It is mandatory that the key person will have a thorough understanding and practical experience of the following User experience design principles usercentred design, information architecture, interaction design and accessibility Web Content Management Systems Oracle UCM, Wordpress, FatWire, etc. Javascript frameworks Node.js, jQuery, IIO Engine, etc. HTML5 CSS3 Social media platforms Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc Web analytics services Google Analytics, PIWIK, SlimStat, etc. Specialist knowledge and practical experience developing visualisations and interactive learning applications. The key person will also need to have expert knowledge of the following platforms and software Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X Operating Systems Adobe Creative Cloud suite spec. Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Premiere After Effects Computer Graphic CG animation, modeling, simulation, and rendering software Maxon Cinema 4D, NewTek Lightwave, AutoDesk Maya Code development tools Adobe Dreamweaver, Panic Coda, Apache Subversion, etc.. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for this position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language, especially as far as written skills are concerned. The key person is required to work independently with the minimum of supervision but able to refer to the EUMETSAT points of contact when necessary. Heshe shall be task driven, responsive and selfmotivated. A largely selfmanaged person, the consultant shall have excellent communication skills and be used to working to high standards.
