(Telecompaper) Xiaomi has unveiled its new Redmi Note 3 smartphone and MiPad 2 tablet. The Redmi Note 3 features a full-metal body, 5.5-inch full HD screen, fingerprint sensor, MediaTek Helio X10 processor, 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front cameras and 4,000 mAh battery. It will sell for CNY 899 with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM and for CNY 1,099 with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM in a choice of silver, dark grey and gold finishes. The smartphone is the successor to Xiaomi's Redmi Note 2, which has sold over 6 million units to date since its launch in August. Xioami also presented the MidPad 2, which it says is 18 percent thinner and 38g lighter than its predecessor while also adding a full-metal body. The MiPad 2 features a 7.9-inch display from Sharp with 2048x1536 resolution and 336 ppi, the same as the iPad Mini 4, according to Xiaomi. It runs an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor with 2GB RAM and comes with 8 and 5 megapixel cameras, 6190mAh battery and USB Type-C port. The tablet will be available from CNY 999 with 16 or 64 GB storage, in a choice of champagne gold or dark grey finishes.
