Oceania Dairy, the South Canterbury-based dairy company controlled by China's Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group, has set a guaranteed minimum milk payout for its suppliers this season at $4.50 per kilogram of milk solids, or 65c more than Fonterra Cooperative Group plans to pay. "With Fonterra reducing its forecast payout for the season to $3.85, we wanted to send an important signal of support and partnership to our supply farmers," said Roger Usmar, Oceania's general manager.
