ZTE teams up with Open Fiber, Wind on Italian 5G network pilot

(Telecompaper) China's ZTE has announced its partnership with Italian operators Wind Tre and Open Fiber to build what will be Europe's first 5G pre-commercial network in the 3.6-3.8 GHz band. Earlier this year Italy's Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) revealed full details of pre-commercial trials of 5G networks to be conducted in five Italian cities this year, with ZTE, Wind Tre and Open Fiber selected to carry out tests in Prato and L'Aquila.
