It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Senior Legal Council has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. This is a 13 months temporary opportunity fixedterm contract to help the team out during a maternity leave. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Provide proactive business orientated and cost effective legal advice and services to companys Functions procurement, sales, customer services and support, programs, delivery operations, finance, business development, environment, and engineering., including in the areas of corporate structuring and governance, delegations, MA and cooperation, subsidiary management, litigation, competition and antitrust, trade, documents management, contracts drafting and negotiation, Intellectual Property, IT, RT and RD, and environment. Support companys business activities through education, advice, structuring, drafting and negotiation support to Functions. Support the creation and implementation of standard documentation and legal processes. Ensure that company is not exposed to major legal risks, mitigate such risks, defend or settle favorably administrative investigations, manage and resolve prelitigation and litigation cases. Ensure regular information and reporting to company legal executives of legal risk or liability issues as well as legal opportunities. Advise and support companys management in trade, competition, and regulatory proceedings. Monitor legal and regulatory developments of concern to the company, analyze their effects on companys business and advise management of implications and solutions. Provide and manage corporate documentation for the company and affiliates. Ensure appropriate legal protection and optimization of companys patrimony, tangible and intangible assets. Instruct, approve and retain any external legal counsel. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Legal Degree Solicitorqualified lawyer with working background in the Telecommunications Defence industry. Experience with Contract Law and Tax. Experience of Intellectual Property IP. Experience managing legal documents and acts. Experience managing legal risks, providing legal advice. Good communication skills and conflict management skills. Ability to influence others. Fluency in English , intermediate level of French desirable.
