We are looking for an Industrial Cost Analyst Support M3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. This is a temporary cover role from December 2020 till the end of 2021. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 120 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. Industrial Cost Analyst Support in the Industrial Auditing and Return Division, Industrial Policy and Auditing Department, Directorate of Industry, Procurement and Legal Services. Reporting to the Head of the Industrial Audit Section, this position shall be responsible for general industrial costs analysis and auditing related activities in support of the ESA procurement process. General tasks to be performed Preparatory analysis and calculation of industrial hourly labour rates and overheads unit rates such as facility charges and other overheads, on the basis of detailed reviews carried out on the companys costs structure and accounting tools Preparatory analysis and review of direct expenditure on cost reimbursement contracts andor cofunded contracts including compliance with ESA rules Support on specific financial viability audittasks, on the basis of detailed reviews carried out on the companys financial data Support on specific nationality audittasks in order to getanalyse the appropriate documents on the basis of established processes and criteria for nationality attribution Support on specific audittasks related to the verification of geographical return data Support on audits carried out in Direct Support to Programs, including a detailed analysis and review of industrial contractual documents Coordination, processing and reporting of timely feedback to initiators making requests through the internal systems e.g. PARI on financial matters e.g. currency exchange, price variation formulae, productivity, inflation, hourly rates etc. Support to the preparation finalization of the auditors handbook Support in the review, optimization and implementation of audit processes and procedures Support with the creation of a database for the bench marking of hourly rates across all Member States Support in the daytoday audit activities, including preparing concise and accurate documentation e.g. draft audit reports, analysis of data, collection of information, etc. Support on other audit tasks projects as requested to the Section In the execution of these duties, the position incumbent will liaise directly with Cost Auditors and will also have contact with ExecutiveSenior Industry representatives, ESA and Industry Project Management teams, ESA contracts officers, ESA finance cost engineer functions and auditors of other National Audit Authorities. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Masters degree, or equivalent qualification in accountancy, audit, finance, economics, or related business studies. Up to 4 years of progressive experience of audit in a large accountancy practice and or relevant commercial audit experience. ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY You record revenues for the Group in line with SES revenue recognition policy and compliant with the IFRS standards. You are responsible for the preparation and day to day activities of the New Skies Satellites NSS related entities revenue and the related business processes. This responsibility includes the preparation of the deferred revenue reports which is used as the control mechanism for both the billing and revenue recognition functions. Also, responsibility for calculating accrued unbilled receivable position backloading asset and for the backlog reporting and analysis. The position interacts with other departments within SES, the external auditors and with our customers. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Preparation of NSS related entities revenue recognition and the related business processes Record 3rd party and intercompany revenue for the Group in line with SES revenue recognition policy and IFRS standards Preparing of backlog reporting and analysis. Maintain correct status of revenue plans in SAP. Prepares and analyses the monthly, quarterly and annual deferred revenue report Ensures and coordinates the impact of revenues recognised with the revenues calculated in the deferred revenue report Based on sales contract, develops revenue recognition profile over the service delivery period, considering advanced billing, milestones, volume based contractual elements etc. Prepares and analyses the unbilled revenue reports backloading asset reports and prepares the shortterm and longterm reclassification of the backloading assets Calculates and reconciles deferred revenue and unbilled balance sheet positions Produces gross and net backlog by credit type and other dimensions as required Collect and record revenue provisions when required Assist in responding to queries from both internal and external auditors, including the calculation, explanation and analysis of revenue variances as requested by auditors Performs monthly and quarterly review of affiliate revenue deliverables including monthly revenue, deferred revenue and backlog Works together with commercial ops regional finance to set up revenue assurance plan for complex deals.
