Taiwan-based Global Unichip and Alchip Technologies, two IC design service companies partnered with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company , have stepped up efforts to lure related 16nm process orders, according to industry sources. Due to its early deployment in the 16nm process segment, Global Unichip reportedly has grabbed several orders for 16nm Bitcoin mining ASICs from Europe- and US-based firms, said the sources.
