Towards infinite-capacity wireless networks, with twisted vortex radio waves
2014-09-18 18:35:44| Extremetech
Researchers at the University of Southern California, building on its previous work on infinity-capacity twisted vortex wireless networks, has now adapted its technology to work with radio waves. The previous laser-based technique was only workable over short distances, with minimal atmospheric interference. Twisted radio waves are more rugged and can be reliably transmitted over much larger distances, potentially allowing for wireless networks that can carry much more data than your existing WiFi router -- perhaps into the hundreds- or thousands-of-gigabits-per second range.

Wireless Charging Receiving Coil serves 10 W applications.
2014-09-18 14:32:58| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
WPC (Wireless Power Consortium)-compliant IWAS-4832FE-50 provides efficiency >70% for wireless charging up to 10 W for portable electronics. High-saturation powdered iron is not affected by permanent locating magnets, and device blocks charging flux from sensitive components and batteries. Along with magnetic saturation of <50% at 4000 gauss, RoHS-compliant product offers inductance of 15 µH at 200 kHz with ±5% inductance tolerance, DCR of 255 mΩ at +25°C, and Q of 60 minimum at 200 kHz.
