Tele2 names new Sweden management ahead of Com Hem merger vote 21 Sept

(Telecompaper) Com Hem and Tele2 have each announced Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs) for their respective shareholders on 21 September regarding their merger. Shareholders at the Com Hem EGM are being asked to support an ethics probe. Separately, Tele2 has announced appointments to the merged company's leadership team and board of directors, and a split of its enlarged Swedish operations into B2C and B2B.

Multimedia Polska agrees merger with Vectra to create Poland's largest cable operator

Consumer groups file petition against merger of T-Mobile with Sprint

(Telecompaper) Public Knowledge said that it has filed a petition with the Federal Communications Commission, asking the agency to deny the proposed merger of T-Mobile US and Sprint. The petition was filed with Common Cause, Consumers Union, New America's Open Technology Institute, and the Writers Guild of America West.

T-Mobile NL promises faster 5G launch, fibre investment and low prices after Tele2 merger

(Telecompaper) T-Mobile has outlined its plans for integrating Tele2 Netherlands if the mobile operator wins approval from the European Commission for the takeover. In a presentation by CEO Soren Abildgaard to Telecompaper and other Dutch media, T-Mobile said the merger of the third and fourth largest mobile operators will lead to a faster roll-out of 5G, increased investment in fibre broadband and low prices for Dutch consumers.
