Ferrite Beads Demystified

2016-02-11 15:09:44| rfglobalnet Downloads

High resolution, high performance converters and radio frequency (RF) systems require good power supply noise filtering and high frequency crosstalk reduction between analog and digital domains. An effective method for filtering high frequency power supply noise and cleanly sharing similar supply rails is the use of ferrite beads. A ferrite bead is a passive device that filters high frequency noise energy over a broad frequency range, where it then becomes resistive and dissipates noise energy in the form of heat. This application note presents and discusses Analog Devices’ products that demonstrate the effects of ferrite beads as output filters.

Featuring shielded design, MRFS-6200 Series minimizes reception of local electric field noise sources. Units can be configured for Radio Direction Finding with addition of short sense whip. Housed in optional ABS radome, 12 x 12 x 3 in. arrays have low visibility. Antennas can be powered from 9.5–18.0 Vdc, with available option for 18.0–36 Vdc. Since antennas do not require ground plane, they are suitable for both fixed and mobile operation.

How To Select The Right Ferrite Isolators And Circulators For Your Application

2014-11-07 10:53:46| rfglobalnet Downloads

Ferrite isolators and circulators play a fundamental and valuable role in RF systems. They are passive, ferrite devices that act as traffic conductors for RF energy in a system, routing signals wherever a system designer needs them to go. This application note discusses the basics of ferrite isolators and circulators and describes the three most important specifications for selecting the proper device for your application.
