A key member of the design team, the candidate must show evidence of advanced microwave design capabilities in the field of Ferrite devices. The role will encompass design of new Ferrite devices switches, circulators and phase shifters from UHF to mm wave frequencies from first principles using HFSS and Maxwell or similar software packages. Knowledge of ferrite material behaviour and chemistry, is a prerequisite for this position, with the ability to work closely with outside material suppliers vital to achieve state of the art designs for applications in Communication, Earth Observation and Scientific satellite systems. Key Tasks Take customer requirements, and provide detailed designs of Ferrite devices for satellite systems Assist in producing detailed technical proposals to win new business Be actively involved in progressing from design to realization as a member of the project team Trouble shooting during manufacturing and test phases Undertake R and D activities to develop more advanced junction designs Material development and evaluation Qualifications Essential Degree qualified. 5 years industrial or research experience, preferably but not essential in the Space, Military or Aerospace industry. Work independently and as part of a team. Detailed working knowledge of HFSS and Maxwell or similar design packages Desirable Space equipment background Complementary component knowledge e.g. passive microwave devices would be advantageous Knowledge of Multipaction, PIM and Corona effects Willingness to take responsibility and become a key player
