For our activities in ESTEC, we are currently looking for a Radio Navigation Engineer. Please note, that the selected candidate will be deployed at the Toulouse Space Centre CST for the first 6 months. Main responsibilities The work includes design, analysis, implementation and testing of radio navigation systems, with emphasis on system architecture and performance, and on radio navigation receivers. The principal tasks and responsibilities will include Support to the EGNOS project in the monitoring of industrial activities in the areas of specifications, design, development and validation for the EGNOS V2 and V3 Ranging Integrity Monitoring System RIMS at hardware and software level Support to monitoring the EGNOS industrial developments for both single and multifrequency multiconstellation receiver design, encompassing all levels of development and performance parameters to sustain the systemlevel performance requirements Supporting the EGNOS system team contributing to the Integrity and Continuity budgets with consolidated receiver performance data, critically reviewing the system processing performance of sensed data within the SBAS processing nodes of both EGNOS V2 and V3 infrastructures Maintaining a high level of expertise of SBAS and avionics receiver technology, including good understanding of the commercial receiver market and the applicable international standards Maintaining a good knowledge of the RF environment conditions in EGNOS hosting sites through site survey results and EGNOS system operations feedback constraining the operability and performance of the RIMS subsystem Contributing to research and development activities by proposing antenna and receiver experimentation and improvements for supporting various navigation test bed activities Supporting EGNOS system Qualification, Safety, Security and AIV in the position holders area of expertise Participating in periodic meetings with the parent section, contributing to the transfer of technical knowledge and lessons learned across the Agency. Ideal candidate Requirements You should have a Master Degree in telecommunications and signal processing or electronic engineering, as well as at least 4 years of working experience in these fields and in radio frequency systems and in navigation receivers as well as applicable standards for avionics and SBAS in the civil aviation domain. Furthermore you should bring the following Experience of SBAS and procurement of industrial activities in safetycritical software and realtime hardware and software development and verification Willing to travel on a regular basis Good analytical, organisational and reporting skills, a proactive attitude to problemsolving and an interest in innovative technologies Candidates must be eligible for security clearance from their national security administration. Verizon completes 5G radio specification

(Telecompaper) Verizon said it has completed its 5G radio specification, adding it is the first US carrier to do so. The specification is the product of collaboration within Verizon's 5G Technology Forum, a group that is working to define parameters for 5G specifications in advance of future standards.
