Ground Segment System Engineer 1813032 Job Description We are looking for a Ground Segment System Engineer for our client EUMETSAT. You shall contribute to maintaining the overall system design documentation of the existing and future systems and multimission elements MMEs. When evolutions of these systems are proposed and implemented, you shall analyse them and verify the system and interfaces coherence. In the role of service to the maintenance and evolution activities of the operational programmes MSG, EPS, JASON, the tasks shall include Contribute to the System Requirements Definition process andor maintaining existing requirements baselines. Contribute to the maintenance, for all the operational ground systems, of a complete and consistent set of System Technical Documentation and the baseline. Contribute to the creation of System Engineering models of Ground Systems using an MBSE approach andor maintaining existing model baselines. Perform technical analysis of system architecture and specification evolutions or major upgrades of the operational ground systems, for interfaces coherence and compatibility check with other ongoing developments. Contribute to the IVV testing approach for major evolutions of the operational ground systems and contribute to the coordination of the installation, integration and verification of new systems into the operational infrastructure. Contribute to the various OPS TSS Projects and associated reviews, as required, providing System Engineering support during the design phase and contribute actively to the definition of the IVV activities. Contribute to the assessment of Engineering Tasks providing System Engineering expertise to CRBs and ARBs. Contribute to the impact analysis of ICT evolutions in operational systems. Contribute to the analysis, investigations and resolution of system and ground segment level anomalies. Provide expert inputs to the SEP System Engineers on all related activities as requested. Contribution to the OPS regular coordination processes as requested. In the role of services to the development of new EUM programmes MTG, EPSSG, the tasks shall include Participate to the description of the system architecture and interfaces between external systems and the mission specific elements of the ground system. In coordination with the system and interface engineers of the future ground segment, ensure that the definition and documentation of new interfaces are compatible with the methodology used in Operations this includes the use of common templates for Interface Control Document and the use of the same tool for maintaining the interfaces data dictionary. Provide support to the definition of the IVV approach for the future ground systems. Required Skills and Experience Experience in the analysis of systems applications and modelling. Experience in the field of Systems Engineering and architectural design for ground segment systems. Capability to prepare system requirements and design documents, and to perform systemlevel analyses for complex satellitebased systems. Experience of writing technical requirements preferably to ECSS standards. Experience of interface management and definition. Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition. Capability to prepare and manage ICD. Use of modelling and design languages for System Engineering e.g. SysML and tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. Vitech CORE, Enterprise Architect. Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software lifecycles and standards. Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering MBSE methods, techniques and tools. Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. Experience in Integration, Verification and Validation IVV of complex systems. In addition, for the accomplishment of the listed tasks, the team shall possess knowledge and experience in the following of the two mandatory domains, and minimum of four of the other following areas Mandatory Satellite monitoring and control systems including Flight Dynamics and SC Simulator aspects Mandatory Data processing Dissemination Archive systems Ground Stations Computer systems Network systems IT Security Desirable Skills and Experience Full development cycle of large systems, from the definition of requirements to system design and testing Configuration Control processes and tools Familiarity with the ECSS standards. INCOSE System Engineering certification CSEPESEP, or comparable systems engineering certification. Copernicus Climate Expert Engineer 1813033 Job Description Our client EUMETSAT, in coordination with the Global Climate Observing System GCOS, has developed a list of Essential Climate Variable ECVs that largely describe the climate system. The Process Assurance and Management Support Division within the Technical and Scientific Support Department provides technical support to the Climate Service unit for this task. We are looking for someone to provide managerial and technical support to activities related to the management of the contributions of data set providers to the ECV Inventory and their assessment by the gap analysis teams. Your tasks will include Quality control and achievement of scientific and technical correctness and consistency of the updates to the ECV Inventory interacting with data providers worldwide. This includes the development of a regular update mechanism for the inventory content incorporating inputs from the data providers. Assessment of the ECV Inventory readiness for the gap analysis process. Coordination of and participation in inventory and gap analysis activities of the Working Group Climate ensuring full awareness within the gap analysis team of the required documentation outputs from the gap analysis and schedules. Analysis of results of the gap analysis for specific priority areas considering ECV interrelationships. Compilation of the gap analysis results. Provision of support to the generation of a coordinated action plan to address gaps, improvement opportunities, etc. Crossfertilisationpromotion of gap analysis best practices amongst the expert teams supporting the gap analysis. Improvements of the Working Group Climate web page and input to technical improvements of the ECV Inventory. Compilation of technical notes and presentations to the CEOSCGMS WG Climate. Attendance at meetings of the Joint CEOSCGMS Working Group Climate including responsibility for minutes of such meetings. Global travel may be requested for certain activities. Required Skills and Experience Knowledge and experience with the following is considered essential Good understanding of satellite remote sensing related to climate including the GCOS framework of Essential Climate Variables. Familiarity with the activities of the CEOSCGMS Working Group Climate and its ECV Inventory. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to analyse complex processes. Demonstrable experience in active participation incoordination of international projects. Experience in consolidating, compiling and editing complex technical reports. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication.
